Clearing the Way: Fresh Verges for Safer Roads

In September, our team was engaged to carry out verge mowing across multiple suburbs in Adelaide’s south, servicing a new council area with a strong focus on visibility and fire safety ahead of the warmer months.

Spanning several dozen kilometres, this project involved a combination of tractors, mowers, and brush cutters to manage varying terrain and roadside conditions. With the area being new to our operations, we conducted thorough site inspections to identify and manage unfamiliar hazards — from hidden obstacles to unpredictable traffic patterns.

As always, safety was our top priority. Our crews followed strict protocols, including traffic management plans, daily pre-starts, and dynamic risk assessments to ensure the wellbeing of our team and the public.

Flexibility and experience were crucial in this project’s success. Our team adapted quickly to changing site conditions, shifting weather, and the unique requirements of the area. By combining efficiency with attention to detail, we ensured the verges were left tidy, compliant, and visually improved.
