Amy Gillett Bikeway

Oakbank, SA • Jan 2024

In December, our team were tasked with the job of tidying the Amy Gillett Bikeway, which extends 17kms from Mount Torrens to Oakbank. The project involved mowing, slashing, brush cutting, rubbish collection, and blower vacuuming. The purpose of this job was to enhance fire safety, improve aesthetics and control weeds.

Our skilled staff used a variety of equipment, including mowers, tractors, ATVs, brush cutters, and hand tools. We also utilized appropriate signage to ensure the safety of both our crew and the bikeway users.

Fire safety was a primary concern, and our work significantly reduced the risk of wildfires by clearing overgrown vegetation. The improved aesthetics of the bikeway were immediately noticeable, creating a more enjoyable experience for cyclists and pedestrians.

One of the highlights of this project was the positive feedback we received from the community. Many bikeway users expressed their appreciation for the improved conditions, and our team enjoyed interacting with the public. A particularly memorable aspect was the opportunity to meet and pet numerous friendly dogs, which brought smiles to our faces.

We are proud of our team’s hard work and the positive impact we had on the Amy Gillett Bikeway. Contact us to discover how we can assist with your next project.
